Well, after the last autoX, i have to get a new helmet... i was gonna buy one, but a guy i know has one brand new in the box, that has been sitting at his shop for 10 years... Date of Manufacture is 5/92... It says SNELL on it, but not SNELL 95... 5/92 means its 11 years old... He told me that it is NASCAR approved until 2005... Think they'll let me use it?

what are you trading him for it ;)

I'm not sure, I know cartct wants snell 95 now so it might not fly.

if its cheap enough buy it anyways. Is it open face or closed? How much does he want for it? If you dont get it I will...

"Helmets are required (sorry no loaners). Every helmet must have Snell, M or Z95 or later approval and proof of being manufactured within the last 10 years and must be in good condition (no cracks)"

so, no. its too old

speaking of helmets are open faced ok as long as they have an appproval rating
