I have a problem. I am the lucky one who gets the do the wiring for my friend. He has a 96 OBD2a Hatch. He also has a donor EG w/ a b16A2 (obd1). How do I combine the two. I was wondering if it was possible to take the complete harness out of both cars and switch them out, I know that the obd2 is a complete harness while the obd1 is a 2 piece. I have heard you guys say use the odb2 dizzy with stock harness but that means that there is no #1 cylinder sensor, right, b/c the obd1 car uses the dizzy sensor. Im trying to not have to use a conversion harness if at all possible. Any help would be great, the search button isnt getting me what I want.

use the car's stock harness. you HAVE to.
you have to use a conversion harness on the ecu side to plug the obd1 ecu into the obd2a cars' wiring.

then, swap the plugs from the obd1 harness onto the obd2a ending harness for the dizzy, alt, injectors, and VSS (if necessary).

thats all there is to it, really.

wire up anything else you need like vtec or knock
