Help Accord 94

Hi there guys, i have a 1994 accord EX automatic and i'm having a weird probs

1. My engine cuts off at 5000 RPM on Neutral, and on D4
any ideas what causes this?

Also, around what RPM range is the Vtec supposed to kick in?

do you mean you rev it up in neutral and at 5000rpm it cuts off??

im perty sure thats normal for a auto tranny, but vtec should be around 5200 or 5500 rpm

but even when i drive it and floor the throttle, it shift at 5 only
before it would do it right at the redline

what about when you keep the cart in first what rpm can you get to then while driving

i only get to 5 and it cuts off

let me think about thhis one mabe a ecu or dizzy problem but for now.. bump bump

It might not be a problem actually, it might just be a built in safety feature. In the manual for my automatic Integra, it says that it won't allow the car to be revved up to a certain point while holding it in a specific gear.

This is just another of the many reasons why you need to start out with a manual transmission if you want to build a fast Honda.

i'm not even hittin Vtec tange, what's the purpose of vtec then if i cant get to that RPM range?
