i recently swapped out my stock engine for a JDM b18c. Everything else is fine, no CEL, leaks noises etc but there is one lingering issue
since the first time we cranked it up the low oil pressure light would turn on for 15-20 seconds after a cold start and 5-6 seconds after leaving the car standing for around one hour. incidentally one the car is warmed up the light never turns on, even when it is revved hard, the engine is otherwise perfect
we have tried changing the oil (10W 40) and filter. the oil pickup and pan were in good condition. we also tried to polish the oil relief piston in the punp in case it was getting stuck. the consensus so far is that it is a faulty oil pump. However if that is the case then why does this only happen at startup
