I just put in a new clutch for my jdm b16. Im trying to put back my cable but I cant get the release shaft high enough to put the cable on. Should the shaft be able to move more than an inch. Id hate to have to remove the trans again.

Its kind of a squeeze. Assuming you have an EF your stock cable will work. Make sure you have the Adjustment screw on the cable unscrewed as far as possible and it should slip in while the lever is pulled all the way up. My lever has NO slack in it AT ALL when the cluch pedal is out (clutch is in).

What I mean to say is that the clutch cable is not hooked up and the release shaft can only come up about an inch so the cable cant slip on. Is that how it is or should that shaft be able to come up more
