well, due to tech difficulties the processor in my computer died. The delema I am facing is this, the computer an older amd mobo. The mobo is amd socket 754 and there are not a lot of processor choices, so do I replace the CPU or do I look to do a CPU MoBo upgrade. I'm not looking at dumping a ton of money into this, I have too many hobbies and not enough money.

HP Pavilion a810n Desktop PC -  Product Specifications  is the computer I have.

replace the processor with what was in it, add some memory and be on your way.

Snag an Athlon 64 S754 proc and roll with it. They're cheap.

werd...just get a new proc and some more ram. run with it until the phenom hits a decent price point.

when you replace the motherboard, you run the risk of windows not booting up right unless you snag the same chipset.
