the other day i decided to power wash my h22 because it was filthy. i made sure to cover up the dizzy and the alternator. i let the car dry for about 4-6 hours until completely dry. when i drover it 3 hours later the VTEC engagement sounded Very muffled and didn't really seem to make as much power as it did before i washed it. everything seems to be fine as far and didnt notice any difference in the way the motor ran or anything. the only other thing i noticed was that i might have overfilled the oil pan because ther was oil well past the dipstick measuring mark but i still cant figure out why it changed. it even sounds different and seems not to make as much power in the high end range then it did before.... anybody have a clue?????????????????????

you get any water inside the motor.. pull the plugs and see if there is any water in the cylinders..

sounds like fowled plug wires to me
check the oil level too

Well obviously not a honda xpert or anything, but did you leave the motor running while you washed it? Or was it at least cooled down? Same thing happened in my friends POS escort, pulled up to the wash after an hour of driving and turned it off? Then went to wash it, cracked his head, coolant mixed with oil, looked like he had like 3 qts extra in the damn thing..

when i washed the car the car had been off for more then 24 hours..i never started that morning. as far as the oil was concerned i did a complete oil change yesterday but nothing changed. i changed the plugs, the plug wires and the dizzy cap and rotor and it still feels the same....

it almost seems as if something is restricting it like maybe its not taking as much air in as it should be. im pretty sure i didnt get water in the block cuz it runs and idle's line with no sputtering or misfiring. it just dosent hit VTEC as hard as it used to. what sucks the most is im about to sell the car and now its not pulling as hard.

does anybody think i should try some drygas...... maybe if there some moisture it could be causing a problem??

btw....checked plugs, wires and head...no water or any type of moisture... not even a small oil seepage.

Pull the plug off the vtec selenoid and make sure there's not a bunch of corrosion or somethin in there. If it runs fine just isn't engaging its variable vt then its obviously something wrong with that selenoid or the wiring.
