Ok, I am new Here. I have a 97 Civic EX with a blown motor. And I have a D16Z6 with engine harness lying around here. Will this motor be able to work in my civic? Plz explain with details if possible. Would I need a wiring adapter? If it is possible to work plz explain how.

Thanks

not going to be legal if you are in a state that checks emissions and such
the D16Z6 doesnt have the same sensors as the D16Y8, and you will likely throw a few codes unless you get a conversion harness and use the OBD-1 P28 for the D16Z6
the harness for the D16Z6 will not work in your car
the plugs for the injectors, distributor, and alternator are different on OBD-1 and OBD2 engines

yup .. thats pretty much the only way to do it (without swapping the entire engine and in-car harness)

he could probly also just move his OBD-2 distributor, injectors, and alternator over to the D16Z6 (im not 100% sure if they all fit right or not)
