help with b16a in ef civic

got 2 codes knock sensor and VSS vehicle speed sensor the vtec on the engine wont engage plus the temp gauge in the car doesnt work

the transmission its hydraulic so does that mean its got a electronic speed sensor and it wont plug into the mechanicle one on the civic any help would be great tahnnks

You probably didn't add your knock sensor wire for the new engine to go to the ecu. That, or not correctly(maybe to the wrong pin, not soldered good, shorted, etc..).
Not sure about the VSS, sorry.
As for VTEC, did you wire the vtec stuff to the ECU? You should have wired 4 additional wires from this engine to your ECU. Maybe that's what's wrong. More details on your setup plz. SI?
