Official: Bush orders halt of oil deliveries to national strategic reserve.

yup.

I blame bush.

http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews....-ENERGY-SPR.xml

how is this possibly going to help us or our prices?

got poll?

"Rising gasoline prices is like taking a -- is like a tax, particularly on the working people and the small business people."

this man is retarded. is like taking a dump?? WTF.

Quoted post[/post]]
isn't this a good thing though? it means more oil will go to the pumps instead of just sitting there in reserves.

and that effects prices how? The arabs don't give a shit if we put it in a hole in the ground or in our gas tanks.

this will not do a god damn thing for prices.

two things to say...

we (the united state) shouldn't have voted for him the first time.

we should just accept the fact that Gas in Europe is $6 a gallon and we should enjoy our "cheap" gas while it lasts.

it will increase the amount of oil we can use for gas instead of just storing it. if there is more supply, there SHOULD be less demand, and therefore decrease the cost per barrell of oil.

wow man... What's it gonna take to make you happy ?

Also, B, you drive a 17 mpg japanese turbo sedan. Your gas-price-bitching privileges are still revoked. Sitcherass down.

I (pissedoffsol) warned everyone. Multiple times. And still, folks stuck up for his in-bred ass. Yes, Bush Sr and his wife are cousins. Proven fact.

Petrol prices in the UK are mostly because of taxes, not the actual price of the fuel.

But, it's ok there. In most other countries, there are good mass transit systems.

I live in a small city of about 65k people.

There are 2 busses that circle a downtown route (meaning, you have to be in down town to take it to the other end of down town.... which basically does nothing for most people)

There is 1 cab company with a handful of cabs-- but you have to call to get picked up. If you see one a day, its a rare occurance.

My area is 27.2 sq miles in city limits. It is far too large to walk from end to end and expect to go somewhere, or shop, and walk home. It would be an all day afair to get a stick of gum from a gas station.

it will increase the amount of oil we can use for gas instead of just storing it. if there is more supply, there SHOULD be less demand, and therefore decrease the cost per barrell of oil.

No. OPEC sets the price of oil per barrell, not the US importers (directly anyway).
if it costs 70 bucks a barell before it even hits US soil, its 70 bucks a barell, wether it goes into the ground, or into our gas tanks.

bush out of office.
and someone who is competent to take over.

what I drive has NOTHING to do with gas prices.

I bet you use more gas a week than I do. Simply because you don't work less than 2 miles from your house like I do. And on the way in, it;s ALL down hill. I coast 90% of my way into work every morning. Sure, you may get twice as much mpg as I do, But you drive more than double my commute every day. I tank up about once a week unless I go somewhere outside of my normal routine (casino, hartford, etc), equating to about 11 gallons a week. How much do you use?

While I think the 5 cents a gallon change in gas prices is not worth halting supply into the federal reserve you guys still amaze me.

If Clinton had just gave that speech he would be hailed as a revolutionary.

Ethanol is the future

it raises interest in US agriculture
it decreases our need for foreign oil
it lowers the foreign trade deficit overall
it's better for the enviornment

Best of all if our demand for oil goes through the floor eventually the oil price crunch will effect China and India, our two fastest growing economic challengers.

It might not be a profitable system yet but the techonology is being developed

I swear if Bush cured AIDS and Cancer tomorrow people would criticize him for contributing to the over population of the world...

I don't know where you get gas, but here on the west coast, gas has jumped $0.60/gallon in the last 2 months.

oh no you misunderstood.

5 cents a gallon was my "from the hip" guess of how much gas prices will come down now that oil isn't being put into the federal reserve.

5 cents a gallon?

Take Bush's cock out of your mouth for a second.... I know you are/were in the military and thus have a natural support for your leader, but you need to open your eyes dude.

It's broken a $1/gallon raise since march. I paid 2.25-2.35 for premium all winter. now, its 3.39. and going up daily.

how about a nice graph.

I swear if Bush cured AIDS and Cancer tomorrow people would criticize him for contributing to the over population of the world...

If bush was smart enough to do such a thing, maybe some people, including myself, would actually like him.

The man is just an out right idiot. I've met 7th grader's that speak better, and know more about the world than he does.

I encourage you all to think hard when 2008 comes around. This next presidency very well may make or break the US for good.

We need a solid leader.
I don't give a shit if he's into god.
I don't give a shit if he's cheating on his wife.
I don't give a shit if he was a porn star.

What I do give a shit about, is that he has a clue, KNOWS that we're in serious trouble, and has a plan to get us the fuck out of it before its too late.

Iraq, Iran, Korea-
crude, the budget, shutting down haliburton's gov't contracts
etc.

the inside shit has got to stop. We need to hire a Hitler (sans the racism side of him). Hitler was so freakin smart. He KNEW what he wanted to do. And SOMEHOW, he managed to convince a whole fucking country that killing other races was a good thing.
If we could get a man of similar intelect into our office, where he could somehow convice all the people of our nation to back him, and perform his plan, we might just make it.
Think about that.

I think you missed my second post B

5 cents a gallon was my esitmation of how much prices would go down from this, not how much prices have gone up

I did like your Perot style charts however

Bush's cock in my mouth? Take Nader's cock out of your ass and maybe you'll stop screaming long enough to hear what Bush is actually saying...

ooh shit this is gonna get dirty....

i highly advise that anyone stroking bush's cock should check out his record for the businesses that he ran... and then compare that record to today...

what do you see?
if bush could get re-elected in 08 this country WOULD FAIL...

I drive 4 miles each way to work in a WRX, that plus routine visits around town and I'm filling the tank every 8 days. I guess my hills don't magically disappear on my way home, like they do on your commute. With my Civic in service it's a tank of gas every 2 weeks with no visits to my dad's house 12 miles away. Disappearing one-way Quantum Hills or not, your car gets 17 mpg, my WRX gets 23 and my Civic gets 35 on a bad day. When I find an Insight I'll be up in E territory filling my tank once a month. The guy called me from an auction today and asked if I wanted a green one with an auto (5 speed IS the only prerequisite that I entered)

Anyway, You can wish for Hitler to come to power (Without the racism, of course) and in the meantime you can bitch about Bush's Empirical views (Which Hitler would have NEVER done.. No) and about Bush's Evil WMD non-gratis (Although if he were SO evil, wouldn't he just PLANT WMD in iraq to be found?) and If you're lucky you won't remember that Hitler entered his term with a single visionary plan, and then changed his mind in the middle of it when he declared himself a supreme power and dismissed (Or dispatched) any one who would oppose him in government.

Wish we had Hitler... you're not smart.

I can tell yu all one thing. As soon as Nissan makes a small or medium 4X4 pickup in either ethanol or Hybrid form I'm off the nipple of foriegn oil

I remember when we were kids dad had solar panels installed on the roof and a new water heater put in that could run off it. It heated ALL of our water and he said it cut our energy costs in half.

The real lesson in all of this is that we expect the government to do this for us instead of doing it for ourselves, that isn't what America is about. America is great because the people solve societies problems not the government. If you want oil to not be a factor in your life then do something about it. I'm gonna start putting a little money away every month to work up a down payment on a hybrid pickup...

i think it just got dirty...

I know i need to tune my damn car, and its half the reason why my gas mileage is so shitty, but damnit if paying 40 bucks to fill up a honda doesnt piss me off.

Guess who I blame for this. Not just George Bush...The republicans in general. Now im not gonna say this wouldnt happen under a democrat's watch, cause it probably would (especially with John Kerry....who the FUCK nominated his bitch ass), but id just like to get it straight rather than spun 3 million ways from sunday, AND STILL no one taking responsibility.

Please just tell me mister president (notice no caps)...JUST SAY, "I fucked us, and China is taking a lot of our share. Youll be paying 6 bucks a gallon by the end of summer" Thats all i wanna hear and i will have insane respect for george bush.

I dunno....now i have to make my 25 mile commute in my rich running timing advanced prelude...DAMNIT IM GONNA FILL UP TOMORROW.

OPEC is fucking us you retards, and people are letting them do it.

I called this bullshit out during the Hurricane Katrina masked raping of prices and everyone bought into the bullshit that the hurricane actually was causing prices to fluctuate so badly. It was merely an excuse to price gouge, especially when we saw the highest oil profits EVER in the last quarter - which is sickening. OPEC is taking advantage of the United States because we're letting them do so.

I also called this out, that we would be at $3.50 for regular during the summer because of the increased transit gives an excuse to inflate prices. When I saw the prices start to climb, I knew they weren't coming back down and they were just going to keep increasing as they're doing right now.

Celerity, I read a post in the other thread about you saying about profits only being so high because of the percentage base that the company uses. If you look at the situation from an economists point of view, the percentage of profit has nothing to do with the base.

What should be done, akin to the formula that Regulatory Comissions use, is to DETERMINE A RASE BASE (BASED UPON VALUE OF ASSETS), DETERMINE THE RATE OF RETURN (PERCENTAGE OF PROFIT THAT WOULD CREATE A "NORMAL PROFIT", and then DETERMINE THE EVUIVALENT DOLLAR AMOUNT and R-E-G-U-L-A-T-E prices from there. Thats what should be done, but is unrealistic because the oil companies will tell us to go shove.

Its sickening that a business like Exxon is raping the citizens of the US. Exxon's ancient parent company was broken apart because of monopoly status when it once controlled 90%+ of all oil reserves. Exxon didn't man up to the Valdez incident and let it roll until they were called out on it. They've broken so many regulations, had so many problems reported by the BBB, and a whole host of other things.

For those of you that think Halburton is the scum of the earth, Exxon is well above Halburton in that category and no one bitches.

"How bush is planning to fuck us."

hmm seems a little late for that statement, he's been fucking us since he was voted into office. Thanks to all the biblebelt loving fucktards.

and the problem with people saying impeach Bush, is that Chenney with then be president and that isn't any better, looks like we'll have to survive until 2008, or maybe I should plan to kill both Bush and Chenney , but then Condoleeza Rice would be president and that would be terrible, and then so on and so forth, basically you'd need to expunge the entire whitehouse staff and start from scratch to even to begin to fix our broken 2 party system that has only proven to be entirely corrupt and run by big buisnesses like the RIAA/MPAA

he's been fucking us since he was PLACED in office by the supreme court

Those are from a leading opec info source on the net.

Bush's cock in my mouth? Take Nader's cock out of your ass and maybe you'll stop screaming long enough to hear what Bush is actually saying...

bah, nader is a dipshit too. I voted for him simply because bush sucks. kerry didn't do it for me, and i knew my state was going to win kerry no matter what i did (and he did by almost 80%)

Anyway, You can wish for Hitler to come to power (Without the racism, of course) and in the meantime you can bitch about Bush's Empirical views (Which Hitler would have NEVER done.. No)

Were Hitler's views Emprical, sure. But on the hole, they were for the good of the nation. not for self-gratification.

and about Bush's Evil WMD non-gratis (Although if he were SO evil, wouldn't he just PLANT WMD in iraq to be found?)

How about the news release that 6 months before we started searching for WMD's, a TOP CIA official informed bush that there were none. Bush ignored this information, and brought us to where we are today. This was all over the news countless times. google for sources.

and If you're lucky you won't remember that Hitler entered his term with a single visionary plan, and then changed his mind in the middle of it when he declared himself a supreme power and dismissed (Or dispatched) any one who would oppose him in government.

and this is different from Bush, how?

Bush focused on issues such as providing tax cuts and improving education. He also expressed a desire to change social security by letting people invest a portion of their funds in the stock market.

wait for it..... wait for it....

yeah, no.

nice plan.

looks like that changed half way through too...

Wish we had Hitler... you're not smart.

yup, i'm a retard. you guessed it.

The real lesson in all of this is that we expect the government to do this for us instead of doing it for ourselves, that isn't what America is about.

i thought that's what we PAID our government for?

It's kinda like my condo association fee. I pay them XXX a month, so that THEY plow in the winter, THEY mow the lawn in the summer, THEY fix the glogged gutters.

could i do it myself-- sure. But since I pay for it, and it's in my contract, I don't have to.

The association (government) provides this for my tax (condo fee) payments.

America is great because the people solve societies problems not the government.

What one problem did society fix in the past 100 years?

Quoted post[/post]]
Guess who I blame for this. Not just George Bush...The republicans in general.

That's not fair. There are OPLENTY of openminded, rational republicans out there. None just happen to be in office at this time because all the ones that were like this resigned, and continue too because they are sick of Bush. There's been more resignations in the past 12 months than there have been in the past 10 years in national government.

Quoted post[/post]]
OPEC is taking advantage of the United States because we're letting them do so.

and who is the one person that can stop this???

you guessed it. and all he has to say is talk about alternative fuels. Circumventing the problem does NOT SOLVE the problem. I learned that in 1st grade I think.

I also called this out, that we would be at $3.50 for regular during the summer

at this rate, we'll be well past 3.50. it's practically already there in Cali.

I use shell fuel. and there's an exxon right next door to where i gas up that has cheaper prices on both gas and smokes.... and i STILL go to the shell station instead. I totally agree with you.

and once again, if there's anyone who CAN break them up.... It's Bush. and once again, he does nothing but talk about hwo he knows its hard on Americans. "Bitch, shut the fuck up. you haven't filled a gas tank in over 7 years. How the fuck would you know?" I want to say that to his face, then e-slap him with one of those ads "Hit the monkey and win $100"

Quoted post[/post]]
Condoleeza Rice would be president and that would be terrible

god yes. someone please get rid of her. I think i hate her more than Bush. Luckily, she doesn't have too too much power... she kinda only talks a lot.

Quoted post[/post]]
i see a vacation to a warm place with forced feeding in your near future...

i'll sponsor the first day of the trip. who's got next?

You guys do know that the republicans and democrats are seriously looking into a regulatory commission on the import of oil and prices right as we speak....

...... The record profits come from the business perspective that they make a percentage of the gross. The gross is the largest ever. The percentage is also going to be the largest.

I'm selling the lude and hopefully can find something more efficient.
