i was thinkin bout punchin my catalytic converter. my question is, which would get me more gains? a hi flow one would definately be more expensive. i know i could just weld a straight pipe but i have no access to a torch. do civic cats bolt right on or is there any cutting involved to get it off? would an aftermarket hi flow bolt right up? is there an O2 sensor hooked up to it?
 
It's not worth punching your cat. Hollow cats create a lot of exhaust turbulence. All of the better hi flo cats have reported power gains over a hollowed cats. That being said we are talking about 1-3 HP at best. My advice: unless you are getting an JDM ITR header that requires a larger cat, don't bother. There are better ways to spend you money.
