My friends boss is looking for a 1976 CB750F
I was wondering what the F means and whats so special about it

I know it has sentimental value but I've been told it was a first for something?
cafe racer-ish?

four carbs

they also have a rear disc brake and a fiberglass rear fender instead of a metal one

four cylinders, four carbs and 4 mufflers
It might have to do with the fact that most of their race bikes at the time were two-strokes, and the street bikes that they made ended up with a four-stroke in them. That is the difference between their CR and CRF lineup of motocross bikes today anyways. That's my best guess.

If it's any help, my 1990 CBR600 hurricane was a CBR600F, as was I think every CBR up until the RR came out. Because you have the 600F Hurricanes, which are commonly called the F1 generation CBRs, then the F2 from about 92-96? then F3 from 97-99? the the F4 and finally the F4i and now the RR. You can still buy new F4i's.
