92 Honda Civic

Hey everyone a quick question and hopefully a quick answer, i assume that everyone on here knows alot about hondas that is why i am posting here. i have a 1992 honda civic and i have a 1999 engine, is the 99 engine compatable with the trans and parts of the 1992 or do i need to try and trade this engine for an older model? thnx to all who respond, Bill
