has both vhs and dvd trays. the dvd tray does work but i can't get it to read any of my dvds... does spin them, but won't read it. could just be dirty/needs to be cleaned. i don't know, i bought a progressive scan, so i'm selling this one. could be a cheap fix. or use it for vhs/tv.
