My friend told me to check my egr valve by pushing on something, but there does not appear to be any 'pushable' parts on the EGR valve. I also havent the first clue how to check ignition timing, but i need to to check my distibutor. Thanks

Theres a diaphram on the EGR in old V8's and stuff that you push on but itsnot the same for hondas, that method does not aply.

and you check timing with a timing light.

basically, you hook it up to your spark plug wire and it shoots a light when the cyl fires. you aim the light at the crank pulley. there's marks on it for TDC.

using the knowb on the light, adjust it till it hits the tdc mark right on.
what the gun says is your timing. retard or advaced as necessary, lather, repeat if desired.
