how much boost?

    ok i want to know how much boost can i run on a stock b18a1 ls ? with 114.000 miles on it very good motor. with a t3 turbo

    There's a lot more to it than "this motor can run 'x' amount of boost safely" with a lot of it being in the tuning. What kind of engine management are you going to be using? Have you done a compression/leakdown test on the motor to be sure it's in good shape before you add a turbo?

    :werd: the tune will pretty much determine what you'll be able to get away with safely.

    Good rule of thumb, but again, a good tune is where it's at.

    if it was me even on a good tune i wouldnt go over 7psi on a stock motor

    is this your DD? 10psi should be fine. just figure from 5-10 on stock engine. what kind of "chip" ?

    If he has the chip and does not have the turbo setup installed - the chip is definately not tuned for his application.

    its a spoon chip the power band in my car i from 3200 to 7000 rpms so i what engine management should i use . and yes its my dd

    psi is useless.

    a GOOD SOLID ls will hold 275-300hp at the wheels.

    if you're is old, weak, or dirty, take 10 hp off for everything crappy about it.

    decide on a figure.

    use X psi it takes to get there.

    haha ya man read. A LOT! you can use a few engine managements: chrome,hondata....etc.
