How to clean head and pistons?

    Hey guys i just took apart my gsr motor and wanted to know what's the best way to clean the head and the pistons?

    heavy duty de greaser, or a good hot tank

    wont the hot tank eat the aluminum ?

    I plan on using carb cleaner and a toothbrush.

    A traditional hot tanking will eat aluminum. Any machine shop worth paying money to would never "hot tank" an AL head or block. They have a similar process using different chemicals that will not eat AL.
