I have some rust spots on my daily driver that I want to touch up so they dont rust any more. What is the best way to paint them after I sanded down to the metal?

Do you have any tips to prevent the following:

- The paint running
- Over spray on different parts of the car
- Avoid making the painted spot thicker than the rest of the paint job

first go to an autobody supply shop and get premixed match paint in a spry can and some clear in a spray can (ask for the clear to be extra thin) then don't mask off the spot but start lighly touching it. till the colour matches and blends in with the surronding area. do the same with the clear but remember not to spray to thick of coats and if you do let it fully dry and wet sand the runs out with 1000 grit
