how to wire up a vtec on a ls vtec

You're in the best forum in the world. Use the search. My guess would be that it should be like wiring up any other VTEC, just run the two wires from the solenoid to the ECU. That's just my two cents. Either way, best of luck.

What kind of car is it in? I would buy a sub harness from www.rywire.com it easy and clean looking

if you're running it as OBD0 with a PW0 or a PR3 ecu, then you only need to add five wires. second O2 sensor, knock sensor, vtec pressure, vtec solenoid and vtec pressure ground. if you're converting to a later OBD, you'll need a conversion harness and the appropriate distributor/ECU.
