Lol, I dont see the point either, but then again, Why did you choose the car to build that you did? You coulda chose a camaro, mustang, etc to build... but many people still ask, Why a honda?

Yeah you can beat around the bush, but i dont think anyone realy knows why they do the things they do...

My excuse is because its what i want, To prove to myself and others that i can do it, and NOPI. You better belive your gona see pics from me at nopi. I also want to get a job customizing cars, so i figure when this thing is done, its gona make a nice resume.

Anyway, its work time, Goal is to have the firewall welded today.

Thanks.

I just welded the under dash piece in. I hate this welder tho. POS. The welds are good, but look like crap.

The firewall is ready to be welded, i have it held in with sheet metal screws now.

All thats left on this stage is to weld the firewall, and then the firewall to the underdash piece.

After that, the RHD is gona be postponed untill the body work is finished, and the car has fresh paint on it.

cool shit. i'll give you credit for that.

:werd:

I think you'll have a harder time getting used to sitting in the right side of the lane compared to learning how to shift with your left hand. It only takes a few minutes to get used to shifting on the left.

The first thing im gona do when i get used to driving this, is get another steering wheel, and a passanger. lol.

Have you ever had driven side by side with someone, gotten their attention, and then have the passanger pretend to swerve, then hold the steeringwheel to the window with a face of shock? LOL... Its gona be fun.. Gona get that shit on video.

Got a couple more pics for you guys.

Got the under dash piece welded in.

Anyway, im takin today off of the swap, i have to retrive my POS sunfire that broke down and stranded me 120 miles away from home.

so much fun with the steering wheel its also great to throw it out the window and have your friend start swerving like crazy.

also fun to throw up your hand s in the pass seat and then have buddy start swerving.

wow.. great work that your doing..

im trying to finnish up my RHD conversion.

it's on a '90 integra though..

sofar, everything in my setup is done, just wiring problems..

the whole jdm harness & usdm harness not fitting, cutting splicing mix matching, now i have to check every pin out of the ecu to the distributor..

have you gotten all the wiring for your conversion?

good luck with the rest of it..

ok 1st thing clean the meatal and degrease it before you weld.
those welds are not strong at all they are full of purosity and will snap and or crack at an extremley low shear force. What welder are you using is it a wire feed flux core welder, or a gas sheild welder. If yo0u want any tips on laying down a good weld pm me but please don't leave them like that

you should've done a little more cleaning before you started tearing that stuff up. All that is gonna rust up. consider renting a sand blaster and getting that cleaned up. all that old paint and surface rust needs to go.

Good luck man, I hope everything works out for you! Good job for trying something that very few are willing to try. Its nice to see that some people can still reach down and grab a pair every once in a while.

Just a tip, After you get your dash/carpet/wiring/all that other crap outa the way, and before you remove the old firewall, weld in some support braces in an X. under the front windshield on the upper right to the lower left foot well, then weld one from the upper left to the lower right, then weld one in the center that goes from the floor to under the windshield. Leave all that crap in place while you remove/replace your firewall. That should keep it from shifting. (I've moved firewalls before)

1"x1" square tubing works great for this.

If you dont, it will certainly shift while you have the firewall out, and you will have 9 kinds of hell getting the new one to line up right.

Hope it goes well for you!

************EDIT************

I suppose I should have read the entire thread before posting! lol... Oh well, I'll leave the info there so the next person can use it....

did you happen to miss the fact that the old firewall is out and he is welding in the new one? So no need for the bracing to prevent shifting
