    My car is broken.

The windshield is shattered, the roof is crumpled, and the hood is trashed. The towing company fucked over my bumper and fender.

Doing 60 down the highway, the hood flies up. What the hell did I do, Karma?!

It's happened to me on my CRX, and a few other people that I know...it's happened to them as well....That's why I like the Z...revered opening....

Sad to hear it's happened to you...but it's a common thing....

I know it's common, but it's the first time it's ever happened to me. Scary as fuck to be driving down the highway and all of a sudden only see black.

Well, I had a headlight bulb go out last night, but I'm positive that I put the hood pins back in or I wouldn't have made it the 15 miles back home. It's possible that one of the neighborhood jackasses pulled the pins during the night...

But anyway, I was headed to work. About halfway there is when it happened. No fluttering, no warning, just BAM! and there's glass everywhere. There was no traffic coming at me or around me, so I just turned on the 4-ways and pulled off the road. It's sitting at the body shop right now. It needs new glass, the roof needs to be pulled out, and I need a new hood. The towing co. took a large chunk out of the bumper, and one of the fenders was cracked where the mounting flange for the bumper is.

My insurance is paying for pulling the dent in the roof, a new windshield, and a new CF hood.

I've also been allotted $650 for a new hood.

The towing company that fucked my bumper and fender will also pay dearly too.

I might end up getting an ITR front end. :D

    ricer.

ITR engine > ITR front end.

Sucks about your car, tho...I've gone through two 110.00 dollar tires in 3 weeks, so I know how it feels.

I know I'm a ricer. But ITR headlights > standard civic headlights with no corner lenses.

I don't have the money for an ITR engine. Otherwise I'd do both.

Sorry Pope. Yeah, it happens. It happened on my Celica once after I didn't completely latch it, but I reacted quick enough to the brakes, and slammed it back down. Equal hood damage, no roof or glass damage.

That sucks. That happened to me once at autocross last summer. The hood latch was all gunked up and didn't close properly. Oh well... at least the windshield was covered by insurance. Luckily I found a used hood for $100 as the hood wasn't covered. Just bought another used hood last week to have as a backup. The price was right and it was red.

Well Pope, I'm glad you're ok after that ordeal. I know I've driven 80 mph with just the safety latch on (forgot to push my hood down). Glad that didn't happen to me.

Thanks Rev8k. It really was an ordeal. Not like the other times... I've been in 2 collisions before.

Luckily, everything's covered by my comprehensive... with no deductible.
