ID motor swap

I have a civic with a B18c engine swap. It was advertised as a JDM motor. How can I tell by the numbers or whatever that the engine and the trans are JDM or USDM? Also is ther anyway to trace year (94-01) that this engine was actually produced. I am new to the imporrt car market, I have been playing with import trucks for years.

If it has only B18C on it, it is Japanese. The US uses a numerical designation such as B18C5 or B18C1.

As far as the year,look on the head abovr the exhaust manifold, you'll see some circles with numbers in them, the left hand one is the year.
