so, i'm on call this week and not the following, but the week after as part of rotation....

problem: i sleep like a log

when i'm out, i'm out. i set 3 alarms every night to wake my ass up in the morning. my cell phone that i never hear, my normal radio alarm clock, and the screaming banshee alarm on my laptop. the laptop usually wakes me up first.

being on call, i simply get a text to my cell.

i've got my volume cranked full blast, and picked the loudest ring tone... but i still don't think it will wake me up.

so, does anyone know how to get me to wake up?
i can leave my outlook open, and if an email comes in, can i set an alert that will play an mp3? i don't know much about outlook... just the basics of using it for email.

i'm worried about sleeping through a major disaster :(

Im the same exact way. I use my cellphone and a radio alarm, but 9 times out of 10 its my girlfriend that wakes me up. Maybe try getting to bed sooner?

I sleep like a log too, I found that an alarm with a ascending buzzer works well. You dont wake right up and shut it off, it kinda annoys you first. Then it BLASTS you :D

bah, find a woman to sleep with you that is sensitive to sound. then she'll hear it, wake you up, give you some head, and get you off to work in a good mood. even if it is 3 a.m.

Get an ear piece, hack off the ear bud, wire in an RCA jack, plug it into an aux jack on your stereo. Crank it up to a reasonable level and put it on aux when you fall asleep.

Alternatively, you might call your cell place and ask them about hearing impaired items for your cell phone. They may have an auxillary ringer that screams.

they also have lights that flash. you might be able to get a strobe or something that will turn on your regular room lights to.

    lol

well, the outlook thing wored with one exception.....

it only plays wav files, so i had to find something else...

but the kicker is, there's no way to turn it off.

i got about a minuet long wav of some drum cadence from a marching band. lol and there's no way to shut it off until its all done. lol
