idle question

ok i have a eg hatch that we dropped a b18b in it. i have no cel everything works fine. the one thing i am a bit worried about is the idle. it idles above 1000 rpms some times about 1200 to 1000. i thought it should be about 800 rpms. could it be my dizzy timing is a little off? also it seems to be running a bit rich not to much but i can smell it a little bit when i stand behind the muffler and i had my friend step on the gas. let me know what you think

as far as the high idle you have a vacuum leak somewhere, timing off wouldn't cause it to idle 1000 to 1200

I wouldn't worry about the runngin a little rich, put a new o2 sensor in it, it should clear it up.
