Idle Sensor?

I have an 89 Civic CRX HF and it idles funny , some people tell me it is the idle sensor but im not sure... its just a rough idle... it idles rough from 900 to 1300 im not sure what it is... but can someone please help me ...!! GF WANTS TO SELL THE CAR!!! AND IF IT DOESNT GET FIXED SOON SHES GOINA MAKE ME SELL IT LOL... pleease tell me!! lol thanks

idle air control valve.. located on the back of the intake manifold??

Check for vacuum leaks, or leaks in the intake manifold gasket. Check the distributor and make sure the rotor is on good, and the distributor bolts are tight.
