Hello all,
I have a 84 civic Dx that i bought a few years back. it has been a great car but needs a tune up bad. I have kept up with all of the regular maintenance, but the timing is off, making it more sluggish and hard to start.
Now i know how to adjust the timing, and I see the little plastic pointer and the marks on the pulley (they aren't any where near each other) that look like this

and the sticker says to set it at 15*
But how am I supposed to know where that is?
Do i need to disconnect an advance mechanism?

My almighty chiltons isn’t very helpful on this one, only giving vague advice for 88 and up.
If someone could quickly explain which of these marks represents 15* and how many degrees are between the marks I would really appreciate it.
