you've got to be more specific about what you have.

    car year, model, trim
    wire harness used
    obd/year of motor
    obd result

and [off topic] but who the hell still says 'reckon'? lol

ok i will attempt to spell this out in very easy to understand terms
i will use myself for an example

    car year, model, trim
    1993 , del sol , Si

    wire harness used
93 del sol Si harness modified to fit OBD-2 plugs (injectors and distributor)

    obd/year of motor
    OBD-2 / 2000+ JDM ITR (B18C)

    obd result
im using a chipped OBD-1 P28 so my setup is OBD-1

    so.....
car year, model, trim = what the hell car are you starting out with (what is the engine swap going in?)
wire harness used = what harness are you using???
obd/year of motor = i dont know how to make this any clearer
obd result = what ECU are you running it with

    car year,model ,trim
    1995 , civic , dx

    wiring harness used
95 civic harness obd1 with added vtec wires running to the ecu and obd2 engine harness that came with the motor and plugged straight in to the original harness

    obd , year of motor
    obd2 , 1999 jdm integra type r

    obd result
i have an obd 2 integra ecu that doesnt plug in (shall i just get a conversion harness)
i have an obd 1 civic ecu that plugs in but wont run the engine (can i get this ecu to run my engine if i have it chipped cos the guy at the tuning company said it wasnt just a case of getting it chipped so no)

ok run a chipped P28 or P30 (P28 will be cheaper and easier to find)
and get something to tune with (VAFC, Hondata, etc)

the DX ECU can not control VTEC (chipped or not)
