the newest M3 is built on the e46 chasis

e30 (1983-1990)
e36 (1991-1998)
e46 (1999-current)

Weight soaks up the bumps in the road. No 80yo man that has the cash to fork out on the car actually wants to feel the road bumping beneath him. That car looks like the new pontiac grand prixs IMO. I'd rather buy a 90's 318tii hatchy, and swap an m3 drivetrain in it.
