YEEEEAAHHHHH
Last Saturday I trekked up to New England Dragway at Epping to see 'Import Wars'. Though there was a show-and-shine competition, I didn't bother with it. There were 4 classes making runs on the strip. Street, Prostreet, Slick, and Run-Only. Saw some nice cars, some not so nice cars, and a few suprising cars (i.e. 2002 Gran Prix GTP running 12.8's all day).

I took a crapload of drag pics, which if demand prompts, I'll post. For right now though, I'm gonna post some obligatory Honda pr0n (excluding the body-kitted, Altezza'ed crapboxes) and some other neat cars I saw. Don't mind the subtle lack of full-car shots. Most cars were parked so close together that I couldn't stand back far enough to take a picture.

Gran Prix, running a 12.9 this time at about 107mph. Sleeper?

Jet Car that showed up to do some shakedown passes. LOUD.

awesome picks the GTP are fast as fuck from the factory...cuase if i remember right those are the supercharged models if not its the GTX's

The GTP is supercharged, but I wouldn't call it "fast as fuck". Maybe from a roll, but a supercharged V6 in a heavy front wheel drive isn't exactly conducive to traction from a stop. That's a good ET though.

Nice pics.

On another note, it is nice to see cars now with engines so fuckin wild, that they can't be covered by the hood anymore. Now we are officially at the same point as 1969 hotrods.

There's a white GTP here that's got a 2-stage nitrous setup on it, not sure what shot. Runs consistent 11's though. Motherfucker drives around on the street on slicks and skinnies on the back.

Nice pics though. What's up with both of the EG's having like, the EXACT same styling? Projectors and the bumper cut the exact same way? Is that like, a new trend?

:D My buddy Brandon's car with the turbo pokin through the hood.. :) He normally runs mid-low 10's, but at that event, something flew up off the track, hit his windshield and cracked it... Which put him on the trailer.

Ohhhh that sucks man. Taken out of runs for a break... and not even a cool break like an axle.

Yeah, it was too bad the Trick Engineering EG had to be put back on the trailer, I was looking forward to some 10 -sec runs. Conversely, Ricks GSX got the same treatment. He made two nice shakedown passes, but when he tried to beat some guy for real - in typical 600hp DSM manner - his drivetrain took a sh*t. He broke his rear CV, which torqued the rearend so much, that it actually moved the rear suspension around.

It was also too bad that Mike's white STI wasn't tuned. T-60 Turbonetics snail, and he was only running 13.2's.

Pics of the Eclipse/STI (not at NED, taken at Trick Engineering).
