anyone experience this error?
the manual says too much heat, or faulty sensor...
this was during the free air calibration so i know it wasn't too much heat...

damn it

Do you have a EGT yet? It may very well be too much heat.

Are you running Crome now? How much timing retard, still the .75/psi?

no EGT yet... free air calibration = before its even in the exhaust, car not running, not even warmed up... so definately not heat related...

i have crome pro but i didn't get any further than the E8 before i gave up

i called their tech support and they are telling me to send all 3 grounds directly to the battery... if i still get an E8 they told me to contact my dealer regarding a DOA = dead on arrival sensor. they told me they have very few returns so i'm hoping its something i did wrong but i'm running 2 chassis grounds and 1 motor ground, seems hard to fuck up...

you got the lm-1?
i went with the stand alone kit...

I told you to get the lm-1. see what happens when you don't listen to me :D

lol
haha, i knew that was coming...
what are you my GF?

the LC1 wasn't too complicated...
there's a power and ground for the gauge, then one power, 3 grounds, 2 analogs and the serial output for the LC1...
i hooked it all up and then got the E8
then i turned it off and tried again, and i got it to do its stuff and then i got the reading of 20 ish:1
then i got the E8 error again
then i put it in the exhaust and started the car, and it prob read in the 11-12:1 range for all of 15 seconds before it shit the bed again...

so i just called innovative back and spoke with someone else and ran through my problems with the sensor and he says he thinks its a bad sensor...

the first guy i talked to i only told about the E8 error, so he told me to check the grounds, but i failed to tell him that it was an intermittment failure...
i explained it all to the other tech and he said it sounds like a bad sensor...
so...

this is so disappointing...

i did get high 11's to low 12's for the whole 10 seconds the sensor actually worked...
so thats exciting... i guess.... :shrug2:

so i ran the gauge and the sensor directly to a battery, it warmed up etc etc
did a calibration
it flashed from 20.8-20.9 to o2 for a while then threw an E 8
unhooked it, tried it again, and it flashed an E 8 after about 5 seconds
very disappointing
