Any of you guys carry disability insurance on yourselves? Like Aflac or that sort?
Something to protect you if you get injured and are unable to work?

I recently increased my personal liability coverage. I had 250/500k on autos, plus my home owners.
Dropped auto and home to 300k max, with a 1mil umbrella on top.
Ended up costing me about 700-800 LESS, with more than twice the coverage.

work provides 60% of salary both short term and long term. While it would be a bit of a lifestyle cut, i could survive on that for the rest of my life if i lost a thumb and eye on the same side (the 'best' provision that qualifies for full benefits)
I carry 100/300, always have. that is more than bare min requirements and after that, people should carry under-insured insurance for themselves. few people win suing beyond what insurance covers for normal claims. Even if they win, they don't get paid.
I do need to re-do my auto and home. i'm getting raped on the auto now. Got a few quotes for much less.

Bundle the home and auto, save a fortune.
I was at $1500 for auto and $1100 for home.
Went to 1131 for auto, 455 for home, and 166 for the umbrella.

I just don't want to end up in a car accident and then lose my house.

My employer pays for a 60% long term disability. I work construction so a bodily injury will screw me more than some other industries. I should look into to seeing if I can get something on my own for additional coverage.

My previous employer paid for my coverage, I'm not sure where it's at now with G. I definitely saved a lot on insurance by bundling my home and auto under USAA.

Insurance is like digital services in your home. TV and internet are cheaper if you add a landline.
