Integra Engine swap

The B18C1 (GSR) wouldn't be a bad option. People boost them all the time. It's the Type R (B18C5/7 etc.) that is bad. The only real thing you need to look at is the compression of the motor.

I just wanted to say thank you for all of the advice.
so if i ever wanted to turbo the engine i should probably go with the b18b1 as opposed to the b18c1 becuase of the compression correct? Is there any newer engines that i would be able to swap into the LS that would be better.

Why do you need a newer engine? If yours is in good shape then it should be fine to boost on. Anything newer then a B-series engine is going to require lots of work and money...

Not necessarily for the compression... just for what your goals seem to be, the expense of swapping to another engine could be put towards a better build on your current engine. The $3000-4000 you would spend gaining that extra 30hp going to a GSR engine could be put to a LOT better use on the engine you have now.

ok i want a good base engine that over time i can add on to, (ex. a turbo intake exhaust etc) if i get the b18c5 i heard that the compression isnt right to turbo it, is there a better engine i could get that would have similar horsepower stock, that i would be able to add a turbo to i want something that i have the potential to build up in the future.

You can use any motor you want. B18C1/5, B18A/B, B16A/B, H22, F20B. You can use any of these motor as a base motor.

The LS B18B motors is a good starting point if you are new to this stuff. You can always replace a B18B motor for cheap unlike its cousins the B18C or the B16.

Ok im going to stick with the b18b1 thats in the car now. It has about 75k on it seems to be in good shape. I have probably about 5-6k to spend. I want to be around 200hp and 160tq or so with the potential to add more to it in the future. Im pretty well set on putting a turbo on it, any ideas on what kind of turbo i should go with how much boost i will need, and what other things i might consider adding in addition. I want this as my daily driver so i dont want to destroy the gas milage if possible and i want it to last.

Thanks again to EVERYONE. im very new to this.

if your worried about gas mileage dont boost it. your mpg will go down hill. if you 180-200hp build the b18b. i/h/e build up the valvetrain, some higher compression pistons, arp head bolts. and get a tune. im rockin a fully built b18a, cruise at 60-70 mph. and i get 31-32 all day and im running really rich. and i get the privilege of reving to 10k

if i was u i would just turbo it how it is me freind just built his ls turbo eg 7 lbs wit stock block 220 on dyno this would b the cheapest and easy way to gain power

I have the option to buy a 1998 Integra LS for dirt cheap, only problem is its slow compared to what im used to.

I want to swap out the engine so i have a strong base to go on, im hoping to get somewhere around 180-190hp without a turbo while still getting good gas milage if thats possible.

Im brand new at this so any help would be much appreciated even if its just a web site where i can go to do some research.

Money is not something im concerned about if i have to save up to do a swap if its worth it thats what i will do.

I just want to know what motors will work in the integra and what there specs are, along with what an engine swap takes to do.
heres another option for you. go out and get a B16 head, B16 ECU, run the wires for v-tec. then buy a turbo set up, which u can find for under 1000$. u can safely run 7, 8psi on a stock ls/vtec.
