I have a D16Y7 with an automatic transmission (I hate auto) that I would like to install a turbo on. I have heard it is not a good idea but I have only heard that from one person. What are the concerns I should have with doing this?

    'safe' is a relative term.

A small kit shouldn't be an issue, but the transmission won't hold a lot more power than stock.

If you're interested in performance, a 5psd swap should be considered.

The drive train a pretty weak on the hondas. They aren't built for much more power, especially not when you are getting close to doubling the output of the engine.

In a perfect world, you could get a 5 speed swap or just trade the car for something you want.
