I keep seeing these previews for the speedracer movie, and the clips i'm seeing have a 6 on the car. Am I wrong or was the car not called the mach 5 with a 5 on the car?

It is a 5 from the original, hence the name "The Mach 5"

the new movie looks like a bad acid trip. i'll have to pass.

you're right though...i bet it's something to do with the plot. i bet the mach 5 is the older version and they updated the car for the movie. kinda like how james bond always gets a newer version.
