last time i checked hondaswap didnt even work on aol
[post=438439]Quoted post[/post]

as i stated before aol = the ghey

if I try to go on hondaswap or any forms for that matter on my parents AOL machines, after like 2 clicks, it makes it so that all the threads are read (nothing highlighted) but it does work. Tell him to make sure that his broser is set to accept cookies. I am pretty sure that AOL still uses Internet explore for all of its settings even if you normally use Firefox or even better, just go to hondaswap using Firefox/mozilla

yup.

just cuz you connect with aol doesn't mean you have to use their piece of shit software that comes with it.

use firefox here, and everywhere, for best results.

i will not code the site and waste my time to make it work in browsers that don't support webstandards.

I'm NOT the only one doing this.

TOP corprate sites are slowly making the move.

here's some examples of their disclaimers:

http://www.sprintpcs.com/upgrade.html

and notice, firefox/mozilla is the top choice.

ESPN re-directs shitty browsers to a "lite" version.
http://lite.espn.go.com/index

I don't have the time nor the desire to do such a thing. download a new browser.

News sites...

Hell, even stupid shit like this...
http://www.amiannoyingornot.com/(cbe5w555w...5)/upgrade.aspx

and big names like adobe:

our site uses cutting edge technology. Although it works 95% ok, i still will not recommend IE6 even with the latest service pak.
IE can't count.
you'll notice on the home page, the middle column is down 1/2 pixel than the left and right columns. don't ask me. every other browser gets it right.
on the forums, the "faux buttons" that are actually just spans with a border appear to only have 3 sides sometimes. Again, thats IE being stupid. And theres 2312321 other quirks with IE that you could only imagine.

from a developers' point of view, a quick google search says that i'm not alone in dealing with ie just being retarded.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&saf...IE6&btnG=Search
Results 1 - 10 of about 8,830 for layout fails with IE6. (0.20 seconds

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&saf...ems&btnG=Search
Results 1 - 10 of about 72,700 for IE6 xhtml problems. (0.20 seconds)

and, people trying to get around the problem with what are called "hacks"
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&saf...cks&btnG=Search
Results 1 - 10 of about 37,000 for IE6 css hacks. (0.20 seconds)

those 37,000 people have way more time than i do.

if you use ie or any other shitty browser, you deal with the shit. its your own damn fault. I don't have time to make it pretty for your stubborn asses :)

using anything else, is just, well stupid. (or you aren't on a windows, apple/mac, or linux system)

no.

netscape was a privately owned company.

mozilla is an open source community project.

all browser's go through a life cycle.

AOL will probably sease to exsist in a year or so their already losing 65,000 customers a week.

I'm glad you're back. Pitch AOL and get something better.

I was at my parents house for crimmus, they have AOL <_< I, luckily have cable. Made the 11 hour journey from WI to PA today and I'm beat.
