    I am going to buy a block for my car and the guy said when they took it out 5 months ago they didn't drain the oil. Will it be ok since its been sitting with oil in it for 5 months

    to me I don't think it would hurt anything. it will keep shit from rusting

    agreed, leaving the oil in there isn't a big deal.

    it goes without saying you should put fresh oil in it before you start it up.

    i never drain the oil, keeps rod and mains oiled so no dry starts.
