Issue with CD player (keeps ejecting CDs)

Hi there, I'm new to this board!

I have a 2003 1.7EL and I'm having issues with my CD player; for the last few months, when I put in a CD (most CDs), it ejects it. It does this sometimes up to ten times before it actually plays it. Or, other times, if the CD is already in and I am listening to radio, when I click on the CD/TAPE button, the display flashes "DISC" and does not play the CD.

Does anybody have any advice? It would be much appreciated!

Why go trough all the trouble.. Get a neww one from Car Audio Stereo - Car Subwoofers - Car Amplifiers and Speakers

They have good deals and send you all the stuff you need to put the stereo in your car.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to that because I do like stock systems.

Has anyone ever tried using a cd "Cleaner" disc? Do those exist?

they do exist, but i doubt it'll help with this problem.

if you want to stay stock, check with a local acura dealer and see if they can get you that radio.

looks like the same radio found in the 01-03 civics

shouldnt be too hard to find one on ebay or at a local junkyard

also check with area car audio shops... they often get left with factory radios that the customers dont want to take with them

although you wont have the security code

only difference would be that the face says honda and not acura. but yeah, it does look like the same radio.

I would just go out and buy a deck. Save the hassle of looking for one at a junk yard or pick a part.
