I am building an all-motor B18B LS. I took my rods and got them shotpined and resized at Hendrins Racing of Rutherfordton, NC. Well known machine shop, the best for miles.
Anyway, he calls me and says "Your pistons will not fit your rods."
I have heard again and again on this site that they will. Even from the guys with thousands of post. Ex. LSVtec I think ounce told me they would. I am not mad I just want to get the word out that they LS rods PR4 will not fit CTR pistons.
Not in 95 anyway. That is what year my LS is. I am pretty sure from 92-01 The Rods are exactly alike. Are they??? No big deal just $80 more dollars to make them fit.
Also. I was told that I would be OK w/ the compression ratio after the install. It should aprox. 11.3:1 or so. He said "Unless the motor has a knock sensor on it you can not run pump gas, 93 octane. Is this correct? Does a non-vtec B18B have a knock sensor, because I thought that just Vtecs did.
Please Let me know so I can quit worrying about my setup.
