Hey I just bought a J32A Engine out of a 2001 Acura TL. I am working on getting the rest of parts to swap the enigne into my 95 Civic Sedan. I am having a lot of trouble finding a 6 Speed manual transmission for it. If anyone knows where I can find one please let me know. I am planing to put the TL type-s cams in it also. Rebuild the whole motor and put light boost to it. If anyone knows anything about the swap that could help me just let me know. Anyones help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks!

mounts are listed for 04-08 TL 03-07 Accord manual transmission though.

Pretty much its tracking down a 6speed on forums, locally, junkyards, and ebay.

Also this swap will be much more expensive than most.

and there weren't many manual tranny v6's offered at all, so, good luck finding a 5 speed one, let a lone a 6 speed one. i'd bet that vast majority of those cars are still on the raod.

Which 98% of the people have no clue how to do half the custom fab work you would have to do. It may be cheaper to buy the motor but it doesn't mean it is going to be cheaper to do the swap.

I'm going to relish this opportunity to correct some of the regulars here since it doesn't come around too often! :D

Hasport actually does make mounts for this now, and other companies are offering wire harness conversions and suspension components, so this actually can be done relatively easily now. It's no longer a custom hack job like it used to be...

Yeah but it is still going to require a lot of more custom fabrication.

What issue was that? I saw they mentioned talking about the Hasport kit over the summer.

Do you know that for a fact, or are you just assuming?

I already know the answer, but I'd like to see how you're going to respond before I say anything...

obviously you'll need to cowl the hood

you can do it like I did with my h2b in my gallery by taking steel and just cutting the hood to raise it, then you have to do axles(ask hasport since they made the mounts), shifter and ecu.

    Hondaswap Gallery

If you have the funds and are willing to do it, go for it, people say its different, but it really isn't. Obviously if a company "commercially" makes mounts then its a good chance there was enough demand to offset the costs to draw them out. Your biggest cost is probably going to be the transmission though.

just write out a list of what you EVERYTHING you will need, price it and add 2,000 to it to be safe
probably should upgrade the brakes and suspension a bit to handle it a bit better.

Well you shouldn't assume. It's essentially a bolt-in swap with the mount kit. The only fabrication needing done is very minor. You have to reposition one of the engine bay mounting points, and that's it. It's basically no more work then an H22 swap. Actually, it's somewhat LESS complicated then an H22 swap, because they have a mounting plate that allows you to bolt in the shifter with no fabrication, and you don't even have to dent anything in the engine bay for clearance.

So yeah, next time, check before you assume...

Well I am sorry I upset you no need to be an ass about it. I wasn't even trying to act like I knew all about it all I said was it required some custom fab.

If I was trying to be an ass about it, then I would have called you a dip-shit or knob gobbler or something else to that effect. My point was that you obviously didn't know what you were talking about, so therefore you shouldn't be acting like you did.

If that makes me an ass, then so be it... :dunno:
