jdm d15b vtec?

I was wondering if any knows what the aftermarket support is like for the jdm d15b vtec engine. I though i read somewhere that the vtec head is the same on the d15b vtec as the d16z6, so could i use aftermarket z6 internals in a d15b vtec. Also could i use aftermarket usdm d15b pistons in the jdm d15b vtec engine. and are the intake and exhaust ports on the d15b vtec the same as the z6 intake/exhaust ports.

I have heard of people putting a D16y8 head on it but it's not suggested due to the high compression it awesome for about 3months max then boom.
