just did a 00 type r swap into eg hatch, my question is how do i kno if its jdm or usdm? is by the b18c and no 5? ne info would b nice thx

it's jdm. jdm engines don't have the trailing numeral. only exception being the one million series first generation b16a1's.

b18c5 - usdm type r
b18c - jdm type r or gsr

not sure how to identify the jdm block from each other, but the type r head should have pr3-4 cast into it and gsr will be p72-2

You can tell the difference between the two engines by the intake manifold design. I'm not sure how to tell the blocks apart.

On the back of my B16A there is a PR3 stamp, I would think on the other motors there would be such a stamp too. It's around the halfshaft area, where it bolts on.

b18c on the block stamp.
and to make sure its not a gsr, go by the intake manifold.

pr3-2 or pr3-3 should be on the head somewhere.
if it has p72, its am sir-g, not an itr
