Is there any difference between an USDM and a JDM itr tranny? Arent the gear ratios the same? Wat, if any is the benifit of the JDM tranny over the USDM tranny.

The major difference is the final drive. The USDM ITR has a final drive ratio of 4.4:1, while the JDM ITR transmission has a final drive ratio of 4.785:1.

usually the final, specifically what calesta said. but also the motors tend to have lower mileage and higher compression. Which is good.

Well, he was just asking about the transmissions.

thx guys... for the info on the motor... which tranny is better usdm or jdm? for drag racing

The JDM ITR will give you the best acceleration, but you'll want to pick the transmission that allows you to reach the end of 4th gear by the end of the strip. If you're running a beefed up B block that will require you to shift to 5th before you run through the 1/4 mile, you might want to go with the USDM ITR. Of course, you can always fix that problem with taller tires....

How much money are you willing to spend? If you're going all out, get the JDM ITR and run taller slicks to get your final gearing right.

well im tryin to get the best bang for the buck.... and i was told that the jdm tranny wont fit in an eg? one again thx a lot for the help

The JDM ITR transmission fits the exact same as the USDM ITR transmission. All FWD B series transmissions bolt up the same way (maybe not the B20A).

i was told that "also depending if you got a JDM/USDM motor, the JDM motors axles that come with the R motor wont fit, they are 36mm and you need 32mm "
