i was hoping to see an actual Bug, not a Beetle
the engine would get in the way on a real bug
the thing was stree legal untill ca dmv ask homeland security to make it a threat to national security
I honestly dont see how that ever could be street legal.
it was. it's a hybrid, runs on the standard engine. there are no laws that pertain to a car like this.
I understand that, but come on theres a fucking jet engine sticking 3 feet out the back of it.
unless there is a law that says it is illegeal, it's perfectly fine, till they make a law for you (aig execs).
one thing you could get in trouble for is, because the jet hangs so far off of the back you might need to hang a flag on it to alert other drivers
or a hazmat permit and appropriate markings depending on the fuel it runs.
OH its like 18inches.
This was in Hot Rod about a year ago, the engine actually hangs out within the legal limit of how far it can hang. A couple of quick disconnects and it's a beetle that's "just hauling a jet engine"
I wanted videos!
some form of diesel.
It is straight up hazardous to pedestrians and other vehicles. Same reason you can't weld spikes to your bumpers and wheels.
it runs on kerosene
the guy has a phd in mechanical engineering
it doesnt look like its going to fast..
