which motor has more horsepower. Im getting mixed emotions for either the b18a1 motor swap and the b16a1 sir motor swap. Which one would yield more horsepowere stock for stock?
anjd also where would i find these two engines?

i believe b16 has a tad more hp, like 10-15. check the engine reference section to be sure on that. but the b16 holds very low torque, as compared with the 130 HP b18 that holds quite a bit more torque. you can find these engines at high performance shops near your house, online, or in a junk yard. my friend bought his b18a1 swap from a junk yard for 100 bucks and it works fine.

These are flywheel horsepower ratings... so here they are Also remember an engine with only 4 characters in it, is JDM. These are horse and torque readings from our Reference section.

B18A1 (obd-0, 90-91) 130/121
B18A1 (obd-1, 92-93) 140/121
B18B1 (obd-1, 94-95) 142/127
B18B1 (obd-2, 96-00) 142/127
B18C1 (obd-1 or 2 94-01) 170/128
B18C (obd-1 or 2, SiR-G 95-97) 178/129
B18C (obd-2, Type R JDM 97-00) 195/130 This came out of Honda's ITR
B18C3 (obd-1 or 2, JDM Type R - 96) 200ps/15.5 kg-m (its metric) Honda ITR 96 only.
B18C5 (obd-2, 98-01) 195/130 Acura's ITR

Thats straight from the reference section.

if u want an easy swap with decent horsepower gains, go with an d16 sohc vtec or a dohc zc non vtec from an old school integra. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE JDM ZC IF YOU GO WITH THAT...otherwise you could get yourself into some real sticky shit. neither one of these motors need aftermarket mounts but you not gonna get the power upgrade you would with a b-series swap. hope this helped some...
