Kibbles N Bits, Pedigree, Ol Roy .. all garbage, if there is wheat or corn listed in the first 3 ingredients its no good.. you need to feed her a good food.. whats your budget like?

heres a handy little scoring chart for dog food, i suggest you check it out

How to grade your dog's food: Start with a grade of 100:
1) For every listing of "by-product" , subtract 10 points
2) For every non-specific animal source ("meat" or "poultry", meat, meal
or
fat) reference, subtract 10 points
3) If the food contains BHA, BHT, or ethoxyquin, subtract 10 points
4) For every grain "mill run" or non-specific grain source, subtract 5
points
5) If the same grain ingredient is used 2 or more times in the first
five
ingredients (I.e. "ground brown rice", "brewers rice", "rice flour" are
all
the same grain), subtract 5 points
6) If the protein sources are not meat meal and there are less than 2
meats
in the top 3 ingredients, subtract 3 points
7) If it contains any artificial colorants, subtract 3 points
8 ) If it contains ground corn or whole grain corn, subtract 3points
9) If corn is listed in the top 5 ingredients, subtract 2 more points
10) If the food contains any animal fat other than fish oil, subtract 2
points
11) If lamb is the only animal protein source (unless your dog is
allergic
to other protein sources), subtract 2 points
12) If it contains soy or soybeans, subtract 2 points
13) If it contains wheat (unless you know that your dog is not allergic
to
wheat), subtract 2 points
14) If it contains beef (unless you know that your dog is not allergic
to
beef), subtract 1 point
15) If it contains salt, subtract 1 point

Extra Credit:

5
points
3) If the food is baked not extruded, add 5 points
4) If the food contains probiotics, add 3 points

10) If the food contains oats or oatmeal, add 1 point
11) If the food contains sunflower oil, add 1 point
12) For every different specific animal protein source (other than the
first one; count "chicken" and "chicken meal" as only one protein
source, but "chicken" and "" as 2 different sources), add 1 point
13) If it contains glucosamine and chondroitin, add 1 point
14) If the vegetables have been tested for pesticides and are

i feed my dogs the Kirkland Lamb, rice, veggies from Costco.. it runs $26.99/40lbs .. it has slightly less protein than the chicken.. i may be switching to the higher protein food(chicken) soon though.. plus its a couple dollars cheaper

also, i've seen a much more complete list of dog foods.... i'll see if i can find it

here is to give you an idea of how bad Pedigree and Purina is.. even Iams is not all its cracked out to be..

do you have a Smart & Final around you?? they have a food called Nutra Nuggets, its a teal/green bag w/ yellow on it.. IMO, its the next best thing for the price if you dont have a Costco card

Around here all the small mom and pop pet stores have the better food. Purina sucks, when my dog was puppy he took 13 shits one day, we switched him to something better over the next week and he crapped a lot less. Remember with a better food that you don't need to feed them as much food since its has more nutrients to it. Ask your vet or look at the bag to see how much to feed. MOSt bags tell you to feed a lot more than your dog actually needs. You can buy food online. When switching dog food over make sure you do it gradually over several days. Don;t just finish your old bag them give him something completely different.
My dog does well with grainfree Pinnacle. Its on the expensive side but since he's small its less than a dollar a day. My dog has a sensitive stomach and has a poultry allergy.

one of my best friends has a pitbull....one of the nicest dogs you will ever meet. he is very friendly and he's my buddy and has never shown any acts of aggression to any dogs i have seen it around or people.

With that said, i'm not a fan...way to violent, i lived next to one in my condo and it tried to kill my dog on several occasions and it attacked people...There is a reason why a lot home owners insurance companies will not insure you if you have one.

if it was attacking people it was a mix of some sort.. apbts were bred very strictly to be human friendly so they wouldnt bite their handlers while in the [].. its when backyard breeders start breeding am. bulldogs, dogo argentinos, and mastiff breeds to them to make them bigger

DA(dog aggression) should be a given with the breed, even if it is a mix.. sometimes it never shows, sometimes its not til their older and sometimes right as a pup

Golden Retrievers are starting to get on the list for insurers for dog biting issues.

If insurance is an issue get your dog to pass the akc good citizen test.

so many dogs bite people.. the news only likes to report "pit bull" bites though

that's because when a Lab bites a person that person still has a face and its a bite, pit bulls make the news because they full out attack people and they end up with missing limbs, eyes etc....

My Pitt can be a big "teddy bear" or a mean little bitch. Depends on how you interact with her. She loves to cuddle and get in your face, but shes also very proctective, and i have a nice scar from when i was playing with her and she caught me in the arm with one of her teeth.

Its not the "breed of dog" Its how the dog is raised, and the environment its raised in.

how the dog was bred is the main reason? if it was mixed w/ a HA(human aggressive) breed.. chances are its going to attack someone..
