Hi, i recently put a b16 in my ek and i have a short ram ractive intake. Now i love the sound of v-tec and all my friends cars but my v-tec you can barely hear (it works fine) its just that you can barely hear it kick in. Someone told me if i get a better filter like K&N it will sound better. Is this a myth or is it true?

Idealy you should be getting the K&N because it filters better than Craptive filters, and saves your engine. As for sound, I don't really know. My friends V2 sounds knarly when the VTAC hits.

I have a home-made intake myself... :p
 
The proper choice is to pick up a K&N, and not because it'll make you car sound cool, you should purchase things for your car because they function well and increase performance.

I myself have a home-made AEM type intake with a K&N filter as well.
