knock sensor

Wow, lots of arrogance about what does and doesn't work....

If there is no knock sensor board on the OEM ecu, it cannot and will not look for the knock sensor.

A p28 doesn't have the knock board, but don't use it for a 1.8 DOHC engine in its stock form, the fuel and timing maps are too weak for the bigger motor

As for VTEC working or not, if you have a VAFC or similar inline with the ecu, that defeats the stock programming from the ECU and the VAFC or other device triggers the VTEC to activate.

new scenario-

old motor- f22b1 sohc accord ex with vtec
new motor- f22b dohc without vtec

i don't need a knock sensor because the new engine doesn't have vtec? i drove it yesterday and it seemed fine.

that seems like an awful lot of work when you can just buy a new sensor or borrow a buddys p28.... but then again, im just a lazy ass.
