Do any companies make aftermarket knock sensors for cars that don't come equipped with them? I have a buddy that wants to get one for his motor he's piecing together. Sorry, didn't feel like googling through a bunch of useless shit to try to find one good site.

u could probably just put a honda knock sensor in there...all you gotta do is tap into the block and screw in the sensor, then wire it to the ecu...but i'm guessing if its going on a motor that doesnt have a knock sensor, the ecu will not retard the timing if it sees knock, so are you looking into a safcII or a j&s safegaurd?

Well this isn't for a Honda, it's for the Escort GT motor like TPPs, he's already got a
A'PEXI SAFCII lined up....will that have a knock sensor in it or what? I'm completely new to these things.

knock sensors are fucking useless, especially if you are running forged pistons. the clanking of the piston is enough to set it off.

hondata, and the likes, disable knock. a good tuned motor won't (well, shouldn't) knock.
