so you convinced them to use a certain studio and nothing good is coming out of it?
thats because of the producer? who is a band member i assume?

The producer is actually a professional producer who's supposedly been involved in a lot of big bands, Pantera being one of them...

I have two very good friends in different bands. The chemistry in both bands between the members is great. But in different ways.

Anthony and MKB are extremely professional. While they have a good time, they want to get a contract, get signed, and be rock stars on TRL. They have the potential. It's just a matter of time I believe.

Fernando and The Hand Drawn Epic are equally as talented. But they are there to have a great time, play some music, and if things progress professionally, it would be cool. They get fucked up before, during, and after shows. They have all blacked out during a show and all have a story about it. One show I went to they all blacked out and still played amazing.

The point of all this is that while both bands are great, they agreed early on the goal for their bands. They could mix and match members and the music would essentially sound the same in the talent department, but they would get pissed at each other during the first show.

I say, as long as you're playing and having a good time, do what keeps it that way. If that means switching groups, do what is necessary.

it looks to me like you were pretty straight forward about everything
if they aren't as motivated as you then time to move on

I think you just about summed up a decision in that letter, way to go man. It's what I would and did do back when I still played.

Involved as in doing studio work with them, or involved as in running to the store to get them cigarettes?

It said he wasn't happy with them and unless they did as he asked, he was going to give them all AIDs. then drive their cars til they either flipped over or bust out in flames.
