I ran out of battery before the races started again, so all you get is parking lot and pit car porn again. Really need to upgrade my camera one of these days.

    Anyway,
I left a little early as there was just a historic 'race' left and those are just bloody boring. Slow, no passing... and it's totally understandable as these cars are basically irreplaceable, but spectating it blows.
The ferrari racing honestly wasn't that good either. I guess that's to be expected considering that these aren't pro drivers. I probably won't go again next year....

Not a lot of parking lot porn.... mostly ferrari's as expected. Kinda empty this time around too. no outfield, and like 10 people camped out.

Spotted you from across the paddock when I was there. Didn't want to scream out "HEY BRIAN" like some kind of weirdo though, so I just went on my way.

I stayed for the final 458/430 race. A lot of good racing, the 22 car actually had mechanical trouble with 5 laps to go and had to pit. 777 car ended up winning.

    Agreed, that F40 is sex!

Nice to see a 599 GTO on the road too, another one of my fav's.

Is it me? or is the 430 a better looking car than the 458? Also wonder what they do in the 430/458 race to keep the cars more equal? Unless they're running their own races on the field at the same time.

yep, jack line... all these cars have f1-style built in jacks to the chassis.

The series is run liek lemans... 2 classes run at the same time.

the f430's were about .5-1 second slower per lap compared to the 458's.

I'm still trying to figure out the exhaust manifolds.
Almost every car i got a picture of has 3 runners straight out more or less.

how to do you get 3 banks from a V?
I don't see any crazy piping there that grabs 4 cyls into 3 groups of opposing flow?

Hard to see even when just viewing the engine assembly so heres a cut out. You can see where it exits the wastegate.

I was talked to the mechanic for Cavallo motorsports (running the F40LM) and apparently in practice during the morning (cooler air) the F40 was running 2-3 seconds faster than the fastest 458 race car. Pretty impressive that a 15 year old car and keep up with a brand new spec racer. Granted the F40 is probably near 700hp, but still.
